I am very new to the art of photography, but the importance of capturing those precious moments of my kids - I had to buy the best lens/camera to ensure I am able to replicate/freeze that priceless momeent…..
While testing the Nikon 70-200mm lens, my heart stopped when I saw the image it is capable of capturing and impressed with its focsuing speed and (lack of) noise it creates. You can read other reviews for the physics and the detailed analysis… All I know is when I am reaching into my camera bag, I will pull this lens out everytime when I want to capture that special moment with highest possible image quality …. Professional or not, I love this lens..
The only thing I am very confuse about this lens is the price… why Canon is able to charge $1500 for the same lens/feature - while Nikon charges $1900?? the images quality/features seems to be the same…. are we paying $400 more just for the NIkon name? if that is the case (and I am not too late), I might as well switch over to NIkon… since I am sure I will buy few more high end lenses…

The ordering and delivery of the lens was uneventful. The lens works but requires more manual adjustment in auto mode than it should. The lens focal adjustment does not slide a smoothly as my other lenses. I will have it looked at to see if it can be lubricated or determine what the reason is for this jerky adjustment. It seems as if the Zoom mechanism has dried out or is contaminated.

Great little flash unit for Digital SLRs that are compatible. Unit is small and lightweight and low profile on the camera allowing for better maneuverability. Has a boune function as well which is great, best for horizontal shots rather than vertical shots because it does not swivel. Uses 2 AA batteries. Would recommend as a value purchase over the SB-900 which has more bells and whistles, but is 5x the cost.

I love this camera. I already had one. My kids gave it to me for Christmas. My father wanted a Camera and he asked a professional photographer what he would recommend. He told him the Canon Rebel. I could have told him that. So, I ordered one for my dad thru Amazon.com. The camera was a little slow in shipping but otherwise just great!!!! We love this camera. It is so easy to use for the beginner but advanced enough for the professional. You can not go wrong!!!

I ordered the original maker’s battery, why take the chance of ruining equipment worth over $800.00 with an off-brand battery. Of course, I paid more. But I got what I wanted, NO surprises. It does exactly what it should and I don’t have to worry about about my camera.

This lens is a great lens not only because it is extremely versatile in its range going from a wide angle to a telephoto but also because I found the quality of the pictures that I got from it to be excellent.The Image Stabilizer is a good tool to have in situations where there is not a lot of light.You can drop your shutter speed down,have enough light for a good exposure, and not have an out of focus picture. I would highly recommend this lens. I have a 70-200 L series Canon lens that I am very happy with because of it’s high optic quality, but I have no problem at all, and all the confidence in the world using this “S” series lens in any situation that I feel to be appropriate at the time.

Amazing in low light(very low noise at high ISO), fast, customizable, controls Speedlight Flashes wirelessly.
