I read the other reviews and thought I would try it. It worked well when I needed to attach the camera onto a railing fine, but it was not that steady for standing up. Part of it may have been that my camera has the hole to attach it on the side of the bottom instead of the middle. It was inexpensive (cheap really) but I’m glad I got it as a wrap-around-holder for when I’m using it in a place that is not flat or wide enough for the camera to sit safely. I did like that it was small & portable.
it is nice for a small light camera, but if ur camera is very small point and shoot i won’t recommend it. it is tiny, really tiny, like 5 inches long
Tamron AF 70-300m is not a type of lens that I wanted to buy. I was looking for the lens that allow me to do close up pictures of insects, flowers and butterflies. From the reviews I’ve got an idea that Tamron AF 70-300m can do this. THIS IS WRONG! Tamron AF 70-300m is a good tool for those who are looking for inexpensive but powerful lens to do portrait pictures. I successfully used this lens to shoot a fashion show of my daughter. I was unable sit close to the stage but 2x zoom of Tamron AF 70-300m makes possible to do good pictures. The lens quite heavy and you need to consider to have a tripod or use something to support your camera. The quality of the pictures under low light conditions was unacceptable and one need to use a powerful flash.
I own an Alpha-200 and have 2 other lens for it (Sony/Sigma) and this is just as reliable as the others… The only complaint I have is the zoom is a little stiff. I recently went to the Great Wall and the 300mm really got to shine! Overall it’s a sturdy 3, but the price makes it a 4, as it was very inexpensive.
I purchased this lense almost a year ago and have had great luck with it. Fully extended this thing is huge! It works well at capturing those long distance natures shots, yet they can tend to be very grainy at a full zoom. I have also noticed a bit of “purple fringing” on high contrast shots as well. The price alone makes it a great buy for someone starting out with Dslr photography, I know it has helped me. I would like to see a lower F stop at this price point but I know that is asking a bit much. The macro feature on the lense however works amazing. I took several pictures in a natural outdoor light of things around the yard and had to take a second look at what the closeup was! It got THAT close to the object.
I just took this lens out for a spin today and I absolutely love it!!! This lens is great for an amateur photographer like me! I love the bokeh, so soft and beautiful. The auto focus is a little slow, but I don’t mind, using manual focus works very well too. This is the only telephoto lens I’ve ever used so I can’t compare, but this is an excellent lens for its price. Its kind of big, but its not too heavy and it feels very sturdy. Definitely a step up from my kit lens.
I was reluctant at first to buy this lens. I read several reviews first and felt comfortable investing in it. The first pictue i took was a confirmation that I made the right decision. I do suggest reading the instructions before using and they are easily understood. Plus! This lens comes with a 6 year warranty. now that in itself got my vote.
You won’t regret butying this lens.
I purchased this camera, because my 5mp Kodak’s flash did not carry very far indoors (which made zooming indoors a lost cause)
The s700 is much better in that area–the flash carries up to 15-20 feet, but the final results are grainy and disappointing.
Outdoor pix are fabulous with the s700, but I have found that the majority of photos I shoot are indoors, and this 7mp camera can’t hold a candle to the quality of the older 5mp Kodak that I have.
Now, if I can just get the finishing quality of the Kodak with the flash capabilities of the s700 . . .
This is a great pre-DSLR camera, it is a point and shoot with a little more muscle and girth and great accessories, I don’t have any yet but have been reading about them, hope to get a couple of lenses soon. I gave it only 4 stars because I have not tested/played with all the features but I am having fun doing so. I have added a few photos some of my gecko Gator I really enjoyed. I really recommend this camera and I hope to get a DSLR in a couple of years and hope this will help me get used to it.
If anyone has any suggestions for me please leave a comment.
This camera is the best for its price. Plain and simply this camera is awsome!!!!! It does go through alot of batteries though.
Just a few thoughts about why I like this camera.
1. The viewfinder. I can shoot without glasses in the bright outdoors and focus and see my shot and get great results. No need to rely on an impossible-to-see-in-bright-light lcd.
2. The 10x zoom. Gets you close. I get pictures of things far away that I can’t see with the naked eye. Makes for fun when a companion and I bet on what’s going on far away and then take a picture to settle the bet.
3. Is light weight. I carry this everywhere.
4. Can use SD or XD memory cards. SD card readers are all over the place as are SD memory cards.
5. Uses AA batteries. I get a lot of pictures out of my rechargeable batteries, and then pop in another set when needed.
6. Focuses at low-light with a beam. Whether one is using flash or camera is steadied with a mount, the beam eases the process of taking low-light pictures.
7. With all the above conveniences, the quality of the shots is very good!
this is the best i’ve ever used and just ordered one for my daughters birthday. 5 stars from me
