I love the camera….fun to use and learn….takes great pictures!
Thankfully you don’t need the software that comes with it because it crashed my computer. I had to restore…but it let me restore it to a point before I installed the Sony Software so I didn’t lose anything… anyone else have problems with the software? Is there a fix?

I had an older Digital Canon, which I enjoyed a lot. This camera was given to me as a gift from a group of friends and I fell in love with Canon again. I have used most of the major brands, digitals and 35mms, and this camera is a good for those wanting a upscale from the point and click into semi-pro equipment. It’s fairly user friendly, just have to get us to the Canon set up. I recommend if you haven’t used this type of camera, non-point and shoot, go to your local camera store and try one out. You won’t regret it!

Once you go SlR you’ll never go back. I got other point and shoot cameras, but never used them after I bought my SLR canon xti. The other day, I ran out of battery and I tried to used a point and shoot to get some picture of some abandoned kitties I found. Then I realized that once you get used to your SLR, you’ll find p&s a nuisance. And let’s not get into picture quality and pixels.

I do commercial work for hotel advertising. Already own a Rebel 8MP, but having two bodies eliminates changing lenses so often. Why the Canon? Least digital noise in higher ISO settings, durable body, very user-friendly settings.

This XTi has a quick change on point of focus and a larger LCD viewer which I like. In the nearly 3 yrs of using my first Rebel, I haven’t found much about these cameras I don’t like. The one thing I miss, that I had with my G series Canon point & shoot, is a preview of my shots in a tip-out LCD viewer.

This is my third Canon DSLR camera. I own a Canon Digital EOS Rebel 6.3 MP (which I can’t use in AF mode, but otherwise works great). I also own an XT (which my daughter now uses) and the XTi. With each new generation of DSLR cameras Canon makes subtle (and not so subtle) improvements. The end result is that each new camera line is subtantially better than the one it follows. The changes from the XT to the XTi are not great; if you already own an XT you may wish to skip the XTi and move to the next generation of Canon’s prosumer DSLR. But if you want a second DSLR body and want to save some bucks over the XS and XSi, then get a TXi, you will be happy. For me, what makes the XT series better than the XS series is the use of CF memory cards in the XT series. The XS series uses SD/SDHC memory cards which are a lot smaller. The smaller card is nice because it helps save weight, but personally I prefer the larger cards (they are harder to lose). The XTi DSLR is a great camera and coupled with the Canon 28-105mm USM standard telephoto lens you will have a fomridable combination of glass and body - you can’t go wrong here.

This is an older version in the Digital Rebel family, and it is a great purchase considering its much discounted price. It does not have a “live LCD screen” (meaning you have to look through the viewfinder), but the picture pops up right after you take it. This saves on battery life anyway, so I think that’s fine. It has all the basic settings you would look for in this type of camera. If you’re just an amateur photographer (like me) and don’t need a fancy high-end camera, then this is a very smart buy.

If you don’t have this kind of a camera already, make sure you know what kind of memory card and battery to buy as accessories. Also make sure you know that if you are buying just the “body” that you need to get a lens separately.

I havae a small digital camera that takes good pictures but I wanted one that would get me some close-up shots during football games that my son plays in. I researched several cameras and lenses from various manufacturers and sellers. I finally decided to go with the package that Amazon was offering. I do not regret the decision. I am no professional by any means, but the camera makes the pictures seem like I am. I am still learning some of the different functions on the camera, but they are not that hard to learn and in time I will have a handle on them. As an extra bonus, the camera actually arrived earlier than anticipated. Very happy with the camera, lenses, and the delivery.

I looked long and hard before deciding on what SLR I wanted to buy to enter the more professional level of digital equipment. I bought the a200 because of the inbody stabilization, included af motor, and great performance across the board. The superior kit lens and ergonomics where just icing on the cake.

I recieved the camera this week. First of all. You can’t use it till you buy a memory card. The manual is ok at best. However if you have a little experience with cameras. You will be happy with the A200 (alpha)..

DO NOT LOAD THE SOFTWARE UNTIL YOU BACK EVERYTHING UP!!!..The first time I tried to load it? My computer would not restart until it went thru troubleshoot mode. So I tried it again..Like the idiot I am…

Then it locked my computer up for good. The only way I could save my computer was with SYSTEM RECOVERY… I lost all my files and started from scratch…Then tried it again..After loading new software for a printer and a Canon camera…With the same result… Locked up on SONY..

The camera is OK…Beware of the software!…

I bought this camera as a last second idea for my trip to Thailand. I got it with time to spare and using mostly the auto setting I am getting fantastic pictures. Great camera at a great price!

Great camera!! It does everything, and then some, that I expected. I would recommend this to anyone, especially to someone that is looking for a point and shoot camera. It’s easy to use and has all the bells and whistles that one needs. I especially like the way the menu is set up for ease of use.

I am not a skilled photographer and this camera has improved my pictures immensely. Great zoom and the automatic settings are fine for most pictures. Best of all, it takes great indoor shots without flash. It is an excellent compromise between point-and-shoot and SLR in size, price, and features. It weighs under a pound which I can tolerate carrying all day, but has a number of SLR-like features as above. Amazon price was lowest around too.

This camera offers much more than I know how to use. I use the “auto” and just point and click. It’s the zoom that attracted me but I have enjoyed the super-macro and wide screen capabilities as much. Some day I may learn more about photograghy and use some more settings allowing me to adjust the shutter speed etc. to my liking but for now I like the settings the way they are. Wonderful Camera!

This product displayed purple streaking at long focal lengths. It was returned in spite of the sizable restocking penalty. I didn’t compromise the second time. I bought a Nikon D80 with all the lenses and accessories and am I happy with it! It always pays to buy a proven and well-reviewed product right out of the gate. Mel Wymystr

This camera is the best for its price. Plain and simply this camera is awsome!!!!! It does go through alot of batteries though.
